Hey Jack - Reaper will keep working past the 30-day trial. It will just ask you to pay every time. If I were you, I would keep using it.

If you decide you really like it, some day you should ask your parents to buy you a license. It's a great program you can use for a long time, and paying is the right thing to do.

In order to record your own song, just go to File > New. Then create a new track (Track > Insert New) and go crazy! Let me know if you have any other questions, and keep rockin'...
